My one year old daughter received this as a gift. While she is younger than the recommended age, she is having a great time with it. She likes moving the pigs into the houses, and the wolf down the chimney. She loves to hear the story and watch while the pigs are moved and the houses are blown down. Her 3 1/2 year old brother is throughly enjoying it as well. We also love that the houses and characters all stack inside each other, so it isn't very big to store.

Step back in time with this classic, the Three Pigs, and bring on the fun! The chubby pigs are the perfect size for a toddler's hand to squeeze and let out a squeak. They can hide in their color-matched soft homes with plenty of doors and windows to open and close to teach early prepositions like "in," out," " back" and "front." Kids love to stuff the big bad wolf (and all the pigs for that matter) down the chimney and watch him magically appear inside the house. Carry on little conversations with your pigs as your toddler chooses one to speak for too.

As a speech pathologist with Play on Words, I look for toys that have a lot to describe. Babies and toddlers' receptive language (understanding) has been outpacing their expressive language (actually saying words) as they hear and store new vocabulary words. But at 1 ½ years, they are entering the stage of their "vocabulary explosion" when they can actually learn several new words a day. As you are playing with your child and describing her action with the toy, your job is a lot easier when there is a lot to describe in terms of texture, sounds, color, size, and shape. Point out the straw, stick and brick houses, shiny, smooth and soft surfaces, big, little and medium--sized houses, match the colored houses to the pigs and talk about shapes.

I used Indian Earth in the late 70's at the suggestion of my cousin. I loved it! And still do. The order I received was for the smaller jar, and the same kind of puff was included. Use sparingly! This one should last me a couple of years!! I am so glad to have found it again. Now, can anyone tell me where I can find a cologne called Tweed?

My recently large dog ate the cork top and emptied the contents from front to back in our house. The Indian Earth powder seems to stay put where it's sprinkled. Have loved this powder for years and will order a replacement.

I originally discovered this stuff in College -- back in the 80s (showing my age here) and it was the coolest thing ever. I would put a little on and it would even out my skin tone and my boyfriend at the time thought I had gotten a tan. My skin was (and is) prone to acne and this powder never caused problems. The thing I really like about it is that it is so much easier (read ... FASTER) to apply than liquid foundation. I prefer to use a brush instead of the puff because it provides me with more control.

You have to get used to using this stuff -- it is easy to get too much on... in which case, it will not look natural with the rest of your skin tone. It is like adding spices to your cooking. You start with a little and if you don't like it, you can always add more.

Also, the key is to wait a minute or so before adding more. It truly does change color (often deepens) as it combines with the oils on your face. So put a very light dusting on, then start working on your eyeshadow to give it time to "set". If you still feel like you need a little more, then you can go with a second dusting.

For very light skin tones, (i'm fair to medium), I understand they have different shades now which might work better -- especially in the winter when it looks kind of wierd to have that "sun-kissed" look.

BTW, it really does work great as a natural fingernail color. you apply to your finger nails with a brush and then apply clear polish.

I didn't think anything about it where I bought this, until it came in the mail and it was the size of a bare minerals eyeshadow. Wish it had been clearly stated that even though it costs as much as a big jar, its not even half the size!

This is a plain ol' great toy! First of all~no batteries required!!! I have childre from ages 8 to 3 playing with these and they all have their own way to make it fun. It really has helped with my 3 year old's small muscle coordination, and the 8 year old has stopped stabbing her finger with a sewing needle since she has started practicing with these! I would highly recommend these to anybody whose child may need a little help in their hand/eye coordination. They are made out of very durable wood and the strings match the outer edge of each animal. You won't go wrong with these! PLUS they are made in the U.S.A! Hooray! I love all of Melissa and Doug's toys.
